Negotiation 1 -- 20/10/10 --

I attended meeting with my group members James Collett and Jennifer Lamb and a guest member Mr was invited.

My performance

Strength
The strength was that I was giving good idea to write to the blogger and that I tried and help with the negotiation and I worked well with the group.

Weaknesses

Due to it being my first time negotiating with Mr Chatton, I think I struggled with it as it was my 1st time I negotiated and also I didn’t know what I really need to talk about. Another weakness is that I backed down to easily which I stud my ground.

 For improvements
An area for improvement would be that I just of stuck with the idea and not backed down. Also would be that I just of negotiate with Mr Chatton as James Collett did most of the negotiating and also I need to be more persuasive when I was negotiating with Mr Chatton.

Feedback
Missed opportunity when Mr chatton said how can I reduce the cost and we should said that we should that we should used recycling paper and we would have had a win-win situation.

My group performance

Strength
Strength of the group was that we worked well as a group and we didn’t argue with what idea we were going to negotiate.
Weakness
A weakness would be that we backed down to easy when we were in pressure when we should have back our idea also another weakness would be that we missed an opportunity to a win-win situation. We weren’t fully prepared for the negotiation as Mr chatton wasn’t us questions and we wouldn’t answer them.

Improvements
Improvements would be that the need to be more prepared before we negotate with Mr Chatton and that we should not back down easily. also listen to easy opportunties

Feedback to another group

the group im feedbacking on are group 3 james d , carl, dale and andrew. the things they done well are that the got a win-win deal and that they worked well as a team. but only dale was doing the negotiating and they others didnt do anything to help him.

12/10/10 what i have done before last last update

I have started my gantt chart and I have had my first meeting with mr chatton talking about what he needs in his brochure. I only picked to 1 formal technique as it was more time efficient and also I would get the 1 more somewhere else. I have never created a gantt chart before so I will need to look at examples of other peoples gantt charts to give me an idea for mine.

For the 1st meeting I was unprepared as I didn’t know want to say or do as it was the 1st meeting I had with mr chatton. I also think this meeting was very important as I found out what I needed to create the brochure and what colour scheme is needed on the brochure. There was a lot of questions and I was falling behind with taking the notes as people weren’t speaking clearly and to fast.

For the 2nd meeting we disgusted the hardware and software are available to us at home and school but we didn’t finish it as we only had 45 minutes out of 1 hour. We didn’t complete all the questions making it difficult to complete agender. I think next time we should have less question so we don’t run out of time and also not to rush our note taking as I was missing some of the main points.

Overall strength from the past week are that I have completed my minutes for the agendas and that I have started my gantt chart out of the other 3 formal techniques.
The weaknesses are that we didn’t complete the 2nd meeting and that I didn’t get all the main points in the 2nd meeting. Improvements would be that we should have less questions so we can finish meeting and I should send other companies letters asking for a brochure because I still haven’t got one from my first letter I sent.
